How do I set up a maximum discount percentage rule?

Upgrade to Pro, create a rule with the Maximum discount percentage mode, enter your cap, publish, and test.

  1. Upgrade to Pro. Open the app, go to the billing page, and start the Pro plan ($5.99/month). The first 7 days are a free trial.
  2. Open Protection rules and choose Create rule.
  3. Name the rule, e.g. "Maximum 50% total discount".
  4. Mode: select Maximum discount percentage and enter the cap (for example 50).
  5. Scope: choose All products, or target specific products, variants, or collections.
  6. Message: write the shopper-facing message shown when the rule blocks checkout, e.g. "This item cannot be discounted by more than 50%. Please adjust your cart."
  7. Optional: add country targeting, customer-tag exemptions, B2B exemptions, or localized messages.
  8. Save and publish, then test both an allowed cart and a blocked cart before advertising the promotion.
