Which rules are available on the Free plan? Can I set a maximum discount percentage? How does HBN measure the discount percentage? Does HBN detect discounts created by other apps? Why does the discount still show in the cart, but checkout is blocked?

Can I set a maximum discount percentage?

Yes, with a Pro Maximum discount percentage rule, e.g. "no item may be discounted by more than 50%."

Yes. On the Pro plan you can create a rule with the mode Maximum discount percentage and enter a cap between 0 and 100.
When the rule is published, the app calculates the total discount on each protected line and blocks checkout if it exceeds your cap.
Key behavior:
  • The percentage is measured per unit price, not per line total, so quantity changes do not skew the result.
  • All stacked discounts are counted: discount codes, automatic discounts, and discounts applied by other apps.
  • The percentage works across checkout currencies, unlike a fixed minimum price (see Article 7).
Example: an item has a Compare-at price of $200 and the final unit price after discounts is $80. That is a 60% discount, so a 50% cap blocks checkout.
